The eyeshadow conversation

Does inspiration equate to creativity or the lack thereof?

Lots of people claim: "Oh, I read this/saw this person's work, and I was inspired to make one too."

Would you consider that copying?

I feel like everyone around me is becoming very intelligent/ is very intelligent, and that my IQ decreases accordingly. Doesn't anybody let up around here?



Sibyl and I were at some make up store today, and I spotted this eyeshadow range that had tiny flecks of random, contrasting colours in it.

I ask the sales lady what the specks were there for, and do they affect the colour of the powder when applied?

She says no.

Then I ask, are they there for decoration only? Pure aesthetic value?

She laughs nervously and doesn't seem to answer me. I take it as a yes.

So, you pay an extra dollar for pretty specks of colour in your eyeshadow cakepan that dosen't make a difference when you use it?

She smiles-frowns and says, I think so.

I'm amazed.
